Presentation: Anyone catching Danny at a non-horrible time would swear he's a normal, if not exactly smart, teenager. He's got the same general worries that every other teenager has. Tests, how a long-term relationship is actually supposed to work, how to avoid his homework, trying to fit in, and can be generally impulsive. He tends towards being fairly friendly and easy-going, is kind of a gigantic dork who makes really terrible jokes and puns, and genuinely tries to be a fairly nice kid.

For all intents, and purposes, he's actually decent at being a good person. Better than some of his peers, at any rate. But he does have his negative, even dark sides. He can easily become frustrated and stressed, expressing himself sarcastically, and can even be downright mean and vindictive if pushed far enough. He has some major anger issues, brought to the fore by the pressure his current lifestyle puts him under, to the point that the only real reason he's never killed anyone is because most of his enemies are already dead. They tend to get worse when people screw with his family and friends. He's pretty good at not taking it his anger out on the people he cares about, though He can be under-appreciative of his friends and family, though he's learned to appreciate them enough times that it's probably stuck by this point. He's also has a tendency to develop Acquired Situational Narcissism, but usually comes back to himself before long.

Despite those traits, he's actually genuinely heroic. He routinely throws himself into situations to protect people, even those who hate him. He's even been able to work with his enemies, when the situation is dire enough. When he screws up, he gets back up and forces himself to do better next time. Even when taking into account his anger issues, and bouts of cynicism, he actually has a decent capacity to forgive people, provided they be actually apologetic for whatever they did. After some of the problems he's caused, it would be a little hypocritical to do otherwise, but that said, he's not infinitely forgiving. If someone apologized, and then went straight back to doing whatever it is they apologized for, it's very likely he'd never listen to them again.

Even though he can appear to be dumb at times, he's actually smarter than most people, including himself, give him credit for. He's not a supergenius, but he did inherit some of the Fenton intelligence. His low GPA is largely the result of never having time to study, with occasional focusing issues, as well as the fact that his intelligence isn't schoolwork-based. It generally manifests itself in his ability to lead and strategise. Given time to come up with a battle plan as opposed to being forced to improvise, as 90% of his battles end up being, he can come up with great, workable plans, and is notably capable of getting people who hate him to follow his lead. Though Vlad considers him to be an idiot, it must be noted that this is coming from a man who specializes in Xanatos Gambits, and still has been outsmarted more than once by Danny, making the insult ring just a little hollow.

Motivations: Most of Danny's actions in-game will be fueled by a tendency to be genuinely heroic, and generally defiant. He'll see people being harmed, killed, forced to bend to the whims of a complete nutjob, and he'll want to help as much as he can. Even ignoring his heroic streak, if Danny's made to do things he doesn't like, he'll fight the people forcing him every step of the way. And breaking him of that will be next to impossible, as he has an almost insane amount of willpower. Trying to pander to his occasional bouts of Acquired Situational Narcissism won't work, as the fact that he really honestly hates the people in charge will make him ignore any perks they foist upon him. Even when it seems like he's finally given up, it usually only takes a good verbal chewing out by a friend to make him get his head back in the game.

And he will make friends. Danny just generally does better when he has an emotional support structure, and with Sam and Tucker missing he'll try to fill the void. Primarily with people who'd for one reason or another be considered social outcasts, as he tends to get along better with them rather than popular people, despite at one point having wanted to be part of that crowd. And having friends will just solidify his decision to rebel against the Capitol. Protecting the people he cares about was the main reason he became Danny Phantom in the first place.

Setting: He will be pissed. As noted above, Danny, while normal fairly even-keeled (As much as a teenager who fights monsters can be, at any rate), occasionally struggles with uncontrollable anger. He'll want to blast the hell out of everyone in charge, but with his powers removed he'll have to show his defiance largely by just refusing to cooperate. That is until he realizes, or someone points out to him, that the only way to get out with his hide intact is by pretending to play along to a certain extent.

And that's when he'll kick into high gear. As much as he hates the fact that he's more like Vlad Masters than he generally likes to admit, he'll be pulling techniques straight out Vlad's handbook, pretending to have seen the light and acting, to a certain extent, like a willing tribute, all the while taking every opportunity he can grab to secretly stab them in the back. He'll even attempt to bring others into his secret rebellion if he doesn't join another group first. Brainy's player and I have discussed them working together, with Danny stealing equipment Brainy needs.

There will still be some lines he won't cross until absolutely forced to. Like above, he's not exactly morally opposed to killing anyone, at least in the heat of battle. He'll try to avoid it in the arena largely because it's exactly what the government wants him to do most, and for all his acting otherwise will still want to defy them in some small way visibly. What he will be doing, is being a tricky, sneaky little jerk, in order to make himself appear entertaining. He'll even take some training to keep from dying so quickly as he will likely do early on.

Of course, mental ability to kill and physical ability to kill are two entirely different things, and without his ghost powers his outdoor survival skills are pretty much nonexistent, as are his ability to outmatch anyone. He'll train to try and overcome that problem, of course, and he might be moderately successful, given how quickly he picks up concepts when he actually tries to, and possessing at least a little combat skill already, but with his body resetting every time he dies and unwillingness to actually do what's necessary to win in the arena, it'll be slow going.

Given the nature of the setting, he will be forced to kill eventually, either in self-defense or in defense of another.  With all the other things he'll be doing, he'll end up having to struggle with his potential to become a villain. His willpower will have carried him through pretty much every situation before now, but this struggle will be the point where he can either break, fall to darkness, or come out a stronger, better person. He's a survivor by nature, but what will be the problem is needing to survive as himself.

First Person Thread:

[Danny glares at the device, as if he's trying to set it on fire with his mind. He hasn't yet come to the decision that appearing to cooperate will be beneficial, so what comes out of his mouth isn't exactly surprising.]

WHAT. THE. FUCK. No, I'm serious. What was that?

[Usually he tries to keep his language in check, given that he has little kids who are fans, but today he thinks it's entirely justified.]

I died. Not even just half-dead. Actual dead. Stabbed in the chest with a sword dead. How do you think I feel about that? Totally ready to just give you all puppy dogs and kittens for your birthdays. What is so important that you have to drag a guy from his home, toss him into a gladiator pit and have him killed, and then bring him back just so you can do it all over again? There is something beyond wrong with this place and I wanna know what.

[He's come within centimeters of death before, but this is a whole new level, and he has no clue how to handle it.]

I'm done here. You want anything else outta me, it's not happening.

Prose: Only the fact that Danny is new had saved him from death for his defiant attitude. The Capitol believed they'd break him of it soon enough, and privately, Danny had to laugh at that assumption. People had tried before, and completely failed.

But even he knew there was limits to what he'd be allowed to do. And, as he was shoved through the door for his meeting with the Gamemakers, he had to keep a tight leash on his his urges to do what he really wanted.

Drop his pants and moon them? Hilarious, but not worth the trouble. Make up a song about how much each of them blew monkey chunks? They'd kill him for his singing voice alone. Find a way past the shields, and beat the crap out of every single one, and then use the weapons in the room to start a mass uprising? Not exactly achievable, as much as he really wanted to do it.

It wasn't like he was incapable of giving them a show. He'd picked up a couple of weapon skills here and there. But that would've been doing exactly what they wanted him to, and he wasn't even going to think about granting their wishes.

That meant that pretty much every option was closed to him except one. He grabbed a block target, shoved it into the middle of the room, and stood in front of it, facing the Gamemakers.

"So, I know all of you came here to see what the ghost-hunting kid could do. Turns out? Not happenin'." Danny promptly placed is butt on top of the makeshift seat.

"I'm just gonna sit here and waste your time until you all finally get bored of me. That sound like a plan?" He said with false cheeriness.

What is your character scored: 7. While he's sneaky and intelligent, and actually has some basic combat skills, running the gamut from hand-to-hand, to gun use, to being able to use a sword competently, his survival skills and stamina absolutely stink without his powers. He's not an asthmatic 90-pound weakling, but his de-powered self isn't exactly a physical powerhouse. He'll be training to try and overcome that, and will pick up knowledge fairly quickly, but he'll still be held back by by the fact that his body resets with every death, and the fact that he won't be willing to do what's needed to win will mean he'll die a lot. The physical training will only make sure that he's not the first to die every time.

The longer he stays alive in the arena, though, the more effective he becomes. Again, he's sneaky, fairly decent at poking at people's psychological weak points, knows how to play people against each other, is a decent tactician for a teenager, and fully capable of getting people who absolutely hate him to follow his lead when there's a common enemy. If he ever starts being forced to kill, he'd actually have a better than average chance at winning in the arena. He's even capable of acting like someone people would want to sponsor,

All that said, if his powers are ever reactivated, he'd pretty much outmatch most of the tributes, barring giving them access to ecto-guns, ectoranium weapons, or blood blossoms. Danny is one of those superheros who hit the Superpower Lottery jackpot. In fact, he has so many that it would actually be more efficient to have them in a bulleted list. Note that I don't expect all of them to be brought back, or even any of them, but just in case, here's the full list.
  • Moderate superstrength- This can be augmented by using  ectoplasmic energy, but as a side-effect he tires out quicker
  • Mild superhuman durability- He's not invulnerable by any definition, but he's able to take hits that would seriously injure or kill a baseline human
  • Superhuman stamina- While he has below-average stamina in human form, he can exert himself for hours in ghost form, thanks to his body not producing fatigue toxins.
  • Superhuman agility
  • Superhuman equilibrium
  • Enhanced speed- Not what anyone would call superhuman, but he's capable of running faster in ghost form than he is in human.
  • Flight
  • Invisibility- Can turn himself and objects or people he's touching invisible to the naked eye.
  • Intangibility- Follows the same rules as invisibility.
  • Ectoplasmic energy manipulation - Can fire ectoplasmic rays, create ectoplasmic shields and ectoplasmic objects (Though this is a skill he has yet to master), create light, and even fire explosive blasts.
  • Ghostly Wail - A large scale destructive sonic scream. Very few things can stand up to it, but it tends to leave him completely drained.
  • Duplication- Occasionally managed for brief periods of time, but still not mastered.
  • Ghost sense - Can sense ghosts. Part of his ice powers, it reveals itself as a blue mist coming out of his mouth, and tends to make him shiver.
  • Wall-walking
  • Overshadowing- Can possess people's bodies and control them, and still use his other powers while doing so. He can also leave them with post-hypnotic suggestions. Those with enough willpower can throw the possession off. He's also able to enter people's dreams through use of this power, and enter computers, taking over an avatar in a game.
  • Healing factor
  • Body manipulation- Can turn his legs into a ghostly tail, allowing him to fly faster. Also, can split his body along the midsection, create holes in it, stretch to a certain extent, and is superhumanly flexible. He can also transform from human form to ghost form
  • Exorcism- Can force other ghosts out of people's bodies
  • Telekinesis
  • Cryokinesis- Can manipulate cold energy, freezing things by touch, or firing cryokinetic blasts. He can also create objects out of ice, with more permanence than the ones he'll eventually be able to create out of ectoplasmic energy.
  • Doesn't need to breathe. While he has used space helmets in the show, that can easily be explained by the need to use an inbuilt radio in a vacuum.
